I Am WAY Too Emotional

An e-mail went out today from our church office thanking and naming the many wonderful people who work with the children and youth of our church, of which there are many, and asking them to take a flower on Easter Sunday as a way to recognize their hard work.

I read the list and teared up as I realized that my name was not on it, even though I work in the nursery. My first thought was that maybe it was an oversight or that it was just for the older kids' teachers and volunteers. Then I felt like a ninny for acting like one of the babies that I serve.

I don't care if anyone knows or thanks me for doing what I do in the nursery. I do it to serve Christ, not my own selfish pride. Yet my pride seemed to get in the way anyway. There are just those days you feel invisible and those moments you wish you were! Sigh...

Oh, Angel!! {{{{HUGS}}}} to you! I think this went out for the leaders/teachers of the ministries only...because none of my faithful monthly helpers were on there either. :o(

You're NOT invisible!!

God sees you sister...and He lovingly smiles and says, Well done good and faithful servant. And then as a bonus...gives you a sweet little baby who needs even more than the Sunday school kids, because his future isn't as certain as theirs. He sees you as a mighty tool to work His glory through. He sees you.

Aw, I'm sorry. No matter what our motivation, it does feel good to be recognized for our efforts. We all want to be rewarded just a little in this life, too. Keep up your good works.

Not that this helps, but I'd feel the same way. You assume you'll be on the list and then when you don't see your name it is disapointing. You know your church appreciates all you do and so do those little babies.
