Would a Mariner sit idle if he heard the drowning cry,
Would a Doctor sit in comfort and let his patients die,
Would a fireman site idle, let men burn and lend no hand,
Can you sit at ease on Zion with the world around you damned...?
~Leonard Ravenhill
This was completely copied off of Andy Rooney's segment on 60 min. a couple weeks ago. It's cute, but couldn't they have come up with something more original?
Except Anonymous, that the 11/18/2007 segment that Andy Rooney aired only mentioned the lack of the word Christmas for a mere 13 seconds out of the 2 minute and 42 second segment. The rest was a tirade on the absurdity of the catalogue content, merchandise wise.
In the 11/01/2007 airing of CitizensLink's segment, that was the entire point, not just an aside. And looking at the two air dates, maybe CitizensLink was not the ones doing the copying? Unless of course the Andy Rooney segment was just another re-run do to the writer's strike.
Either way, since I do not watch 60 minutes, I appreciated the CitizensLink segment much more. Especially since they were echoing something that really does bother me, not just catalogue content.
Thanks for your comment Anon., but please feel free to leave your name next time! I love seeing who drops by!
Thanks for posting that on your blog. Just today, a woman who was calling to tell my computer was fixed, wished me happy holidays and I said it back. It has really bothered me. Why did I say that? Why didn't I just say Merry Christmas?

Isn't that great! Every time I get a catalog now I think that in my head and in the trash it goes!
